• Full Carbon Frame – Designing a frame with the highest possible carbon content not only saves weight, but also helps make every Orbea a top-of-the-line bike.
• OMX frame shape – Orbea works hand-in-hand with experts at Mondragón University in the Basque Country to analyze and test concepts of aerodynamics. The down tube, seat tube and seat stays of the new Orca are oval cut and slightly flattened to achieve a 10% drag reduction compared to its predecessors.
• OMX Carbon – OMX frames rely on an exclusive combination of highly modular and high-strength carbon fibers. Prepreg carbon mats are laser cut to minimize material usage and overlapping areas. In addition, the frame is elaborately preformed to achieve optimum compaction with as little carbon as possible. The use of a mold made entirely of expanded polystorol (EPS) and latex inserts prevents wrinkles and voids.
• OMX Seatpost – The D-shaped seat tube of the OMX frames contributes to better aerodynamics as well as greater comfort. Internal option for stowing a battery.
• ICR Integration – Whether mechanical or electronic circuit: all cables, cables and wires run invisibly under the stem along through the head tube into the frame. And all without additional friction or unpleasant rattling.
• Seatpost clamp – Beautifully integrated into the frame, the clamping device for the seatpost not only cuts a really good figure visually, it also improves aerodynamics.
• Orbea racing geometry – The racing geometry of the Orca is the result of almost 100 years of experience in the manufacture of racing bikes and combines the perfect balance of responsiveness and stability. The aggresive posture maximizes both aerodynamics and body efficiency . The handling is precise and intuitive. All angles and dimensions are carefully matched to the different frame sizes.
