When it comes to touring, bikepacking, or commuting by bike, you’ll want to get a bike that can handle it all with no fuss. The Salsa Fargo 5.6 Apex Bike is a drop-bar off-road touring bike built to shatter limits. It is perfect for singletrack, gravel, or other places you want to ride. It has a triple-butted Chromoly steel frame and a Firestarter Carbon 110 fork. The frame features wide tire clearance for up to 27.5 x 3.0″ or 29 x 2.4″ tires, Boost hub spacing, a threaded bottom bracket, rack and fender mounts, and Alternator Dropouts V1.5 that make it easy to run single-speed, geared, quick-release, or thru-axle.
The Apex version of the Salsa Fargo comes with a SRAM Apex 1 11-speed drivetrain. This includes a cassette that has a wide-range 11-42T gear range that makes climbing and pedaling through difficult terrain much easier. TRP Spyre-C mechanical disc brakes provide reliable stopping power and work well in various conditions. WTB ST i25 TCS 2.0 rims are paired with Teravail Sparwood tires that can be set up tubeless for a smoother ride, better traction, and fewer flats.
