Though the frames may be heavier than aluminum and carbon, steel frames are rugged, reliable, and incredibly comfortable over the roughest trails. The Niner SIR 9 2-Star Bike is here to take you on your next adventure. The Reynolds 853 Steel Frame uses 120mm of travel on the front and is compatible with 29×2.4″ tires or 27.5×3.0″ tires. The Trail Country geometry blurs the lines between modern trail bike geometry and traditional cross-country geometry making this perfect for long pedaling rides, stiff climbs, and extended descents. The frame features 18 mounting points so you can use this as your bikepacking bike, internal dropper post routing, and a lifetime frame warranty.
The 2-Star version of the Niner SIR 9 comes with a SRAM SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain. The 32T chainring on the front is paired with an 11-50T cassette on the rear that makes climbing and pedaling through the most demanding terrain much easier. SRAM Level hydraulic disc brakes provide highly reliable stopping power so you can descend under control. Niner alloy rims are paired with Schwalbe Nobby Nic Evo Super Trail tires that can be set up tubeless for a smoother ride, better traction, and fewer flats. If you want the most versatile mountain bike out there, then you’ll love riding the SIR 9.
