Details of the Lapierre Prorace CF 5.9
The 3D Tubular concept has been used on Lapierre road bikes since 2015. It separates the seatstays from the seat tube to improve their flexibility over a longer length and absorb vibrations and other shocks through the top tube. Applying this concept to hardtail mountain bikes allows Lapierre to save weight, simplify the design and improve comfort without sacrificing performance.
Thanks to the UD SLI design, Lapierre’s engineers were able to optimize the rear triangle by taking advantage of both the lateral and vertical stiffness of the asymmetric chainstays and the flexibility of the seatstays to increase traction and significantly improve comfort.
